Videos and Podcasts Technology Announcements Learn from a Distance!!Nederland ISD's Distance Learning Lab is ready!! Videoconferencing enables live, interactive audio/video communication between two or more locations. Videoconferencing is not just two-way television. It is an interactive medium bringing people "face-to-face" in live interactive sessions over long distances. NISD's lab is located at the high school in computer lab LL1 near the library.
Faculty Network Password Reset ToolNISD has a new program to assist you when you have network password problems. You must first log on to the system and go through a few questions to configure security features. This is not an option. With the new system in place you will be required to follow these steps. It would be most helpful if you would go ahead and do this now instead of when you are in need of a quick network password reset. This new program has been expanded to include all district employees with network accounts. Power Save: Go GreenIn an attempt to Go Green and save energy the Technology Department is in the process of installing a program on all computers called Power Save. Power Save is designed to put computers into Standby Mode after about an hour of inactivity. You may wake your computer up by quickly depressing the power button. Users will notice that this process also locks the computer. This is a security feature that has been added as a bonus. New Help DeskThe Technology Department has a new Help Desk system for all TECHNOLOGY related work orders. Access to this system can be found under the District Tools link on our district web page. All users log on with their network user name and network password. Once you log on you will find several categories to select from. Select the issue that best reflects the problem you need to report and complete the accompanying form. Please log back on after you submit a Help Desk ticket to check the status of your issue. You will receive an auto-generated email once your problem has been resolved.
